Do you think Deafblind people can be successful dog guide handers?
Yesterday, the 25th of March, Justin Marshall from Seeing Eye Dogs Australia (SEDA) joined us to talk about dog guides at Deafblind Cafรฉ. It was great to see so many people there, catching up and enjoying the afternoon together.
Justin shared the history of dog guides and explained the pros and cons of using a dog guides compared to a long white cane.
Of course Deafblind people can and do use dog guides! We also had a dog guide handler at the event, giving everyone a chance to connect this information to real-life experience.
There were plenty of questions and great discussion throughout the session. It was a friendly, informative afternoon!
