Golly! What a huge week! Deafblind Awareness Week has just passed, and it was huge! We had such a great week at DBV starting with the DBV café event and a fabulous art show and sale. Deafblind people from all over Australia donated wonderful artworks that were sold, raising money for DBV. Thank you to all the artists who contributed. The art sale proved to be a huge fundraising event for DBV. Thanks again to the artists!
The next day was Day on the Bay annual event at Beaumauris Yacht Club. Another huge turn out and wonderful day, also a great weather day after the wet winter we are having in Victoria.
Finally! The DBV team pulled together a huge event at Ross House on Saturday the 27th. The first Family and Friends Day was held and it was a wonderful day where Deafblind people had the chance to invite their friends and family along. This was a great opportunity to socialise, connect and for non-Deafblind people to learn about their friends and families’ world. It was also a great chance to show them Ross House the building where the Deafblind community in Victoria come together, such an important building. It was really such an important day for the Deafblind community. Great work DBV team for putting a fabulous event and a wonderful week. A huge thanks to the loyal volunteers that support DBV always.
Deafblind Victoria is an organisation that is proudly governed by Deafblind people, the majority of Deafblind Victoria staff is proudly Deafblind.
