Melbourne Polytechnic Auslan Program has partnered with Deafblind Victoria to host a Deafblind World workshop annually. This workshop is an integral part of the Certificate III and IV in Auslan, providing students with the opportunity to immerse themselves in the experience of guiding and communicating with Deafblind people.
On Saturday 31st May 2025, approximately 70 students attended the workshop at our Collingwood Campus. It was a valuable and eye-opening experience, allowing students to hear directly from inspiring Deafblind presenters—an opportunity they thoroughly enjoyed.
On behalf of Melbourne Polytechnic, we extend our heartfelt thanks to Deafblind Victoria for organising this meaningful and enriching event for our students. We look forward to continuing this partnership and hosting many more workshops in the future.

Thanks heaps to everyone for working together as a great team: deafblind presenters, interpreters, Auslan teachers and commguides. It’s so important to spread community awareness that deafblind people don’t have to be alone. We welcome new deafblind people and friends to join our community!
