Footy creations at DBV Craft Group, 11th Sep 2024

To celebrate the upcoming AFL grand final, DVB craft group made footy-team colour crafts. Here is what members said about their favourite teams!

Video transcript:

Kathy Wise: I’m here at DBV Deafblind Victoria for craft group. We are enjoying creating different AFL football related things like fridge magnets. Here are a couple of examples. This one is Collingwood and this one is Richmond tigers. They are made of foam. You cut it out, get some double-sided sticky tape then you stick it on and add a fridge magnet on the back. This Melbourne one is mine.

Pam Mark: My favourite team is Richmond because my cousin barracked for Richmond. My cousin used to play a bit of footy. When they were in the country, they followed Richmond but when in Melbourne it was Essendon. I couldn’t barrack for two different teams, and I had to pick one so I settled on Richmond.

Kathy Wise: I’ve barracked for Melbourne since I was a little girl. I remember my father, older brother, uncle going to the grand final in 1964. Melbourne was playing Collingwood. I was just a little girl, so I stayed home with my mum and sister. When they got back from the game I found out that Melbourne had won beating Collingwood by 4 points. 1964. I couldn’t believe it. I was so excited! Growing up, my whole life I have barracked for Melbourne.

Alison Rawson: I have Usher Syndrome. I’d like to thank Kathy Wise for teaching me how to make football team fridge magnets. My favourite football team is the Geelong cats as you can see on my hat and tee-shirt. I hope they will win the finals this year 2024.
